Planning The Bike Trip

I've been invited to a couple of events at The Hay-on-Wye Festival at the end of this month. As I won't have the car I am thinking of turning it into a weekend motorcycle mini-tour: Starting from home in Bath I'll cross the Severn Bridge and take the picturesque Wye valley road up to Hereford and stay the night. After the events in Hay-on Wye I'll leave Hereford and travel towards Oxford along the A40. From there to Amersham where I was born and Chesham where I lived until about the age of 7. Then it'll be down to Caversham and Reading where I lived up until the age of 10 and then back to Bath on the Sunday. It might be a bit mad, particularly as the weather is not looking great I think I'm going to try it anyway. Will keep you posted...

Oh How Absolutely Marvellous!

As I sit at my desk, Wacom Stylus in hand, racing towards another deadline, I find myself wondering if anyone who looks at the illustrations I produce in books has any idea of what it takes to get a drawing into print. I am reminded of a brilliant cartoon strip by Posy Simmonds from The Guardian (?) a few years ago. This is exactly how it is children...(you will have to click on the strip to get a bigger version you can read)
